Colli Romagna Centrale

"Colli Romagna Centrale" is a Protected Designation of Origin reserved for a wide range of wines: red, red Riserva, Chardonnay, Chardonnay Riserva, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Sauvignon Riserva, Sangiovese, Sangiovese Riserva and Trebbiano.

Grapes

"Colli Romagna Centrale" white wine is made from Chardonnay grapes, for a share between 50% and 60%, and from Bombino, Sauvignon bianco, Trebbiano and Pinot bianco, for a further share between 40% and 50% (present alone or in combination). The red wine, on the other hand, has a percentage between 50% and 60% of Cabernet Sauvignon and for the remaining part contribute, alone or in combination, Sangiovese, Barbera, Merlot and Montepulciano. Cabernet Sauvignon and Trebbiano are produced with grapes from vineyards composed for at least 85% of the corresponding vine (Cabernet Sauvignon and Trebbiano romagnolo) and for a maximum of 15% of other similar grapes, suitable for cultivation in Emilia Romagna. Finally, Chardonnay and Sangiovese are produced in purity, with 100% of grapes from the relevant vine.

Physicochemical and Organoleptic properties

White wine (11% vol.) and Trebbiano (11.5% vol.) are straw-coloured, with a delicate and fruity aroma (more vinous in Trebbiano) and a dry, savoury and harmonious flavour (cooler in Trebbiano). Red wine and Riserva (12.5% vol.) are intense ruby red, embellished with a herbaceous scent and a dry, full-bodied, sometimes slightly tannic flavour. The Chardonnay (11.5% vol.) and its Riserva variant (12% vol.) are straw yellow, sometimes with greenish reflections; the bouquet is delicate, characteristic and intense; the taste is dry, fresh and harmonious. The Sauvignon (12% vol.) and Riserva (12.5% vol.) versions are ruby red, with possible violet nuances, a herbaceous aroma and a dry, full and harmonious flavour. Finally, Sangiovese (12% vol.) and Sangiovese Riserva (12.5% vol.) are intense ruby red, with an ethereal aroma, reminiscent of violet, and a dry and harmonious flavor.
