Ansonica Costa dell’Argentario

The Protected Geographical Indication "Ansonica Costa dell'Argentario" is reserved for a single type of wine, white.


Grapes

The "Ansonica Costa dell'Argentario" wine must contain at least 85% of the Ansonica B vine. Up to a maximum of 15% of the grapes can be used with similarly coloured berries from vines suitable for cultivation in the Toscana region.


Physicochemical and Organoleptic properties

The wine "Ansonica Costa dell'Argentario" (11,5% vol.) is characterized by a more or less intense straw yellow color, the smell is characteristic and slightly fruity, the flavor is dry, soft, lively and harmonious.


Grape production area

The production area of the white "Ansonica Costa dell'Argentario" wine is hilly, medium hilly and insular (Isola del Giglio and Monte Argentario), situated in the southern part of Toscana on calcareous and chalky soils.


Specificity and historical notes

The cultivation of the vine in the production area of "Ansonica Costa dell'Argentario" dates back to Etruscan, Greek and Roman times. The tradition of three thousand years, combined with an environment that varies both pedologically and orographically, combine to make Ansonica Costa dell'Argentario white wine, a product of undoubted quality.
